Orientation Stay - Boarding Program

We welcome your son to Orientation Stay where he can join IGS as a student for 24 hours.

Monday 14 October to Tuesday 15 October 2024

Itinerary

MONDAY 14 October 2024

17:30 New Boarders arrive at IGS. Please enter campus via Darling Street and use the Drop-Off Zone where your son will be welcomed by the Director of Boarding, Stewart Drinkeld.

18:00 Meet their Boarding Buddy and move into the Boarding Tower.

18:30 Dinner in the Dining Room.

19:00 Prep (supervised study time) in the Library.

20:00 Free time.

20:30 Year 7 and Year 8 lights out.

21:00 Year 9 and Year 10 lights out.

22:00 Year 11 and Year 12 lights out.

TUESDAY 15 October 2024

06:30 Wake up.

07:30 Breakfast in Dining Hall.

08:00 Boys meet in the Great Hall.

08:20 School commences.

14:55 School finishes.

15:15 Afternoon Tea and afternoon activities.

16:30 Return to room for shower and collect belongings.

17:00 Parents collect students to travel home.

WHAT TO BRING (All personal items should be clearly labelled)

  • Current formal uniform, including closed in shoes
  • Current school PE uniform, including a sun-safe shirt, closed in shoes (preferably running shoes), shorts or pants and a sun-safe hat
  • Sleep wear
  • Towel and toiletries.
  • Pillow and sleeping bag.
  • Backpack
  • Water Bottle
  • Laptop (optional)
  • Notebook and stationery
  • Any dietary requirement or medication
  • Mobile phone


WHAT NOT TO BRING

  • Gaming Devices
  • Jewellery (no piercings, rings or necklaces)
  • Valuable items
  • Matches, lighters, knives, firearms, fireworks, cigarettes or vapes, pornographic material or any illegal substances
